Look around you, what is your color palette decorating inspiration? Find a color palette that speaks to and inspires you for decorating inspiration to create a cohesive home you love! And who cares the source of what inspires you, it’s your home! I love these stoneware coffee mugs and decided to use this palette for decorating our Galveston house. If you follow me on Insta, you know that this is the slowest remodel ever!! (The cobbler’s kids have no shoes …. and so it goes with the builder’s own home!)

I love the ceramic, stoneware look of these mugs, the colors are subtle and fabulous. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. Mine came from Walmart. When I find them in stock, I will post a link here- the brand is OverandBack. The cool mint green, teal blue, and slate blue paired with the tans, khaki, and butterscotch browns are striking combinations.
Other inspiring palettes
I researched these products and found that they are microwave and dishwasher safe. And even though some coffee cups items say they are microwave safe, the handle becomes scorching hot with only lukewarm coffee! (Have you had the same happen to you?) I tested mine before destroying the packaging and they did fine. This is another set that I considered, they are darker but still really pretty: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Woven-Paths-Stoneware-Rustic-Farmhouse-Mugs-Assorted-Set-of-4/884880839

Or this set above is really pretty too, click here for the link https://www.walmart.com/ip/Creative-Co-Op-Reactive-Glaze-Stoneware-Mug-Set-of-4-Colors/775892633 The glaze gives these a very artistic look! Love them!
Inspiration flows over
The next step was to find stoneware plates and bowls. The reviews for most complained of scratches in the finish from using regular knives and forks. That’s a no-go for me. Then finally, I ran across two different sets from Target. I meant to buy one set but “accidentally” bought two! They are both great, so I kept one for our Houston home and the other goes to Galveston. I posted the Houston set on my instagram page. Go to https://www.instagram.com/sabrinemurphydesigns/?igshid=z75pra0cm82v look under the highlight Kitchen2, for the link to that set.
The mugs and the plates are supposedly lead free according to the website, which is always important. I don’t receive commission from links I post from Target and I’m not sure if I will receive a commission from the Walmart links, since I have not figured that out!
Back to finding inspiration- find inspiration from places you visit on vacation when you relax and let your mind wander. What do you always taking pictures of? I never get enough pictures of the sky and I’m drawn to the blues of the ocean. And now, my morning cup of Joe reminds me that this palette I chose for Galveston is right in front of my nose!
Have a great day, Sabrine
p.s. I’m working to get the products I find and recommend onto www.sabrinemurphy.com My website shows our remodeling/building/designing/decorating projects and will eventually show categories for the items to share with you.
